Client Testimonials
What furniture can be painted?
Pretty much any piece of furniture can be painted and transformed. Most common materials used to make furniture can be hand painted, it’s all about knowing the right products, materials, and techniques.
Whether your furniture is solid wood, laminate, already painted, mdf, lacquered or varnished, Lee can paint nearly all surfaces and upcycle your furniture to be used and enjoyed for many years to come.
Is it worth painting my furniture and is it cost effective?
If your furniture is good quality but just looking tired or dated, then having it painted is a great option. Lee doesn’t tend to use chalk paint unless specifically requested and will meticulously prepare, prime, and paint each piece, to create a beautiful and durable finish.
For this reason, it’s not always as cost effective to paint rather to replace, but it’s certainly the more eco-friendly option. You also get to choose the colour and design you want, with the end result being a professional finish that doesn’t look home-made, mass produced, sprayed or synthetic.
What finishes do you offer?
Lee can offer you a range of finishes for your furniture, from single colour painting to authentic aged ‘shabby chic’ effects. Lee can also elevate your furniture into the realm of fine art by creating highly realistic faux finishes or trompe l’oeil illusions. Whatever the project, each hand painted finish is bespoke and perfectly tailored to suit the design and colourway of the room.
What areas do you cover?
Being based in Harrogate, Lee covers most of Yorkshire for furniture painting projects and is within easy reach of projects in Harrogate, Knaresborough, Ripon, Thirsk, Wetherby, Leeds, Otley, Ilkley, York, Skipton, The Yorkshire Dales, Pontefract, Wakefield, Halifax, and all the surround areas.

- A couple of pictures showing your piece(s) of furniture.
- A couple of close ups showing the current finish.
- Any damaged areas that need attention.
- Any information about the current finish and/or wood type.
- Any thoughts you may have about colour.
- Your postcode, so I gauge any petrol and/or travel costs.
