Kitchen Cabinet Painter Wetherby

As a kitchen cabinet painter I work throughout Yorkshire, with this project being undertaken in a beautiful home near Wetherby. The house was a barn conversion with stunning over-sized windows running almost the entire length of the house.

The kitchen was extremely well made and had a layout that worked perfectly for them, unfortunately the original oak wood was now looking tired, dated, and turning decidedly orange. It would be very costly to replace it for something of the same quality, so now was the time for a  painted transformation!

The client had always wanted a hand painted kitchen and had really done her research, scouring the internet, reading Blogs and researching the best way of doing things. After looking at my website and reading my Blogs she decided I was the man she wanted to entrust the work too.

During an on-site consultation I explained my process and the materials I use in more detail and then we moved onto colour options. The kitchen  has masses of natural light so the units could definitely take a ‘mid tone’ without looking too dark. The client also really wanted a contrasting colour for the island. After looking at various colour swatches we settled on The Little Greene Company’s ‘Rolling Fog’ for the main units and Farrow & Ball’s ‘Pelt’ for the island, both of which I had tinted in the equivalent shade in the specialist kitchen paint I use. The client was delighted with the results and kindly wrote this testimonial for me –

“Lee recently hand painted my 11 year old oak kitchen.  Right from the initial consultation  I was impressed with Lee’s approach.  He was extremely helpful in helping me choose the colours and his skills as an artist and his eye for colour and tone proved very useful when making our final choices.  During the project, Lee was a pleasure to have around and as he painstakingly prepared the kitchen for painting, carefully masking off the units and protecting the walls and floor I was reassured of his professional approach and commitment to doing a top quality job.  The end result is stunning.  I feel as though I have a brand new kitchen and the quality of finish is outstanding – not a brush stroke in sight. Thank you Lee, we love our new kitchen!” Mrs Hobbs
