Kitchen Cabinet Painter York

This kitchen painting project was undertaken in York, and took me a couple of weeks to transform this old and worn Ikea kitchen into the bright and modern kitchen you see in the pictures.

The clients had inherited the kitchen when they moved in and were looking at their options; upgrade, up-cycle or replace. They had found my info on the web, read my Blogs, seen my testimonials, and were keen to talk over the hand painted option. After looking at some photos I assured them I could make it look fantastic and after an emailed estimate they got back in touch to say they wanted to commission me for the work! During the consultation we discussed all aspects of the project and looked in detail at colour options. In the end the colour chosen was the equivalent to Little Greene’s ‘ French Gray’, which I asked Holmans Paints to mix for me my specialist kitchen/furniture paint from Finland.

Various other works were undertaken before I started; including changing the worktops, decorating the room, tweaking and planing the doors/drawers, and adding some new doors to one of the cabinets. Over the years most of the doors had dropped or moved, so if they weren’t sorted before painting the uneven fitting would be obvious and spoil the new look. On this particular project I also painted the insides of the cabinets, so by the end the clients had a truly bespoke and totally new looking kitchen.

Breathing a new lease of life into this particular kitchen was very satisfying as I personally love the look and design of ‘freestanding’ kitchens. The clients were incredibly happy with the end result and were kind enough to write me this great testimonial.

Testimonial –

‘Well, what a treat to come home to!  A kitchen completely transformed and looking fantastic!  It’s a great finish, and it all looks like it’s just been newly installed! We couldn’t be more pleased 🙂 Thank you so much Lee – it’s lovely.  And for something that was threatening major disruption, it was surprisingly easy to manage, thanks to you.  It was lovely to meet you and get to know you a little. We’ll certainly be singing your praises to friends and family! All the very best.’ Sarah and Nick, York
